Qart ("we," "us," or "our") is a mobile app that helps you make more intentional purchasing decisions. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password. If you sign in with Apple, we receive an anonymized Apple user identifier instead of your email.
Screenshots and images: When you add an item to Qart, you share a screenshot with us. We store that image and use it to extract product details (item name, price, retailer) via optical character recognition (OCR).
Purchase and item data: We store the items you add to Qart, including item name, price, retailer, product URL, your cooling-off period setting, your decisions (purchase, pass, or delay), and any optional notes or reflections you write.
Device information: We collect your device's push notification token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) to send you reminders when your cooling-off periods expire.
Usage data: We collect basic logs for error tracking and performance monitoring, including API request times and error rates.
When you decide to purchase an item, Qart may redirect you through an affiliate link. This means we may earn a small commission from the retailer if you complete a purchase. The price you pay is never affected. We log affiliate link clicks for analytics purposes.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy and data practices. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data and Qarted items within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or business purposes (such as affiliate commission records).
We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, bcrypt password hashing, and JWT-based authentication. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Qart is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
